A Christmas Wish for Corduroy by B. G. Hennessy tells the heartwarming story of a lonely teddy bear who dreams of finding a loving home during the Christmas season. Sitting unnoticed on a department store shelf, Corduroy decides to seek Santa Claus's help in becoming a special holiday gift for a child. His journey takes him through the store, where he tries on hats, boots, and baby clothes in search of the perfect outfit before eventually reaching the North Pole. Along the way, he discovers the green overalls that become his signature clothing and receives the name Corduroy. Serving as an origin story for Don Freeman's beloved character, the book reveals how the little bear became the familiar figure readers know from the original stories. With nostalgic illustrations and gentle humour, this Christmas adventure explores hope, determination, friendship, and the universal desire to belong.
