Where do the books come from?

Our books are called remainders. When a publisher prints new books, they have to make space for them in their warehouse. To do this their accountants select the titles that appear to have the least value. They sell these new books, at a reduced price, which are then stored at distribution centers.

How is shipping paid?

In order to make your donation dollar go further, instead of our guessing how much shipping might be for each title and including it in the price of each book, we get you the deepest discount for each book When the books are to be shipped, we pick the most cost effective carrier and pass that cost directly on to you. Never any extras or handling charges. This cost is added to your credit card when the order is shipped.

My organization is tax exempt, how do I get tax exempt status for my orders?

New York State Not-For-Profits that are Tax Exempt must send us a copy of their Tax Exempt Certificate via email. The Tax Exempt Certificate image (pdf, jpg, etc,) should be attached to an email and sent to mailto:Sales@KidsLiteracyProject.com?subject=Tax Exempt Request. Upon certificate validation, our sales group will send, via return email, a coupon code that makes the order Tax Exempt in NYS. The coupon code must be entered at the bottom of the shopping cart after book selection. Please include your name, email address and contact number in the email with the certificate.

Why is there a minimum order budget amount?

In order for KidsLiteracyProject.com to maintain its current discount levels (up to 80% off  MSRP), we currently have to make sure that all order budget amounts are greater that $350. That minimum budget amount is subject to change at our discretion.

PolioPlus is a worthy cause. What if my organization wants to direct a portion of sales to another charity?

KidsLiteracyProject.com is currently working on an affiliates program that will support recipients specified by purchasers.

What if we do not like one or more of the titles selected by the Shopping Assistant?

Use the shopping cart to remove any unwanted titles. Then use the Books link on the left of the page to look through our inventory and select any substitute or additional titles. Since this is a manual step, it is your responsibility to stay within your budget.
